Hotmelt Coated Yarns
Metered adhesive on a yarn carrier. Clean bonding without resin baths or complex application equipment.

Metered adhesive, clean application
Thermoplastic adhesive coated yarns are used where a metered amount of adhesive is desired. They allow for less demanding application needs — no hot, viscous resin baths and no associated application equipment. The improved economics come from eliminating clean-up and waste; yarn application systems are less complex, clean operating, and generally inexpensive compared to traditional hot melt systems.
Resins are selected for their adhesive properties and temperature characteristics and generally include EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetates), Polyamides, Polyesters and Polyurethanes. The thermoplastic coatings can be applied on Fiberglass, Polyester, Carbon, Kevlar and Nylon yarns from 7 tex to 260 tex, as well as rovings. Monofilament or solution-dyed multifilament cores are also available.

Specialty Monofilaments
Custom engineered unreinforced thermoplastic monofilaments — made of 100% EVA, Polyamide, PVDF or Polyester — are available in various diameters. These monofilament hot melts offer clean, efficient and controllable applications and are an excellent alternative to troublesome glue-gun applicators.
Where an application does not require reinforcement, a monofilament of resin provides the same advantages of metered resin and easy application — the tensile properties are limited only to those inherent in the resin selected.

A unique combination of adhesive and fibre
Our hot melt coated filaments are customised to meet exacting application requirements. Through proper selection of resin, core fiber and coating level, a coated yarn can be optimised for adhesion and reinforcement properties.
